Why are vacations important for couples

For years, my spouse and I lived a fairly routine life. Work, home, work, home… the usual cycle.

We’d see each other, but the moments felt monotonous.

We’d often think, “We need a change, let’s do something new!” and get excited about plans. But when it came time to act, we couldn’t seem to make the leap.

Because we were tired.

Staying home and resting seemed like the easier option. But over time, even that began to feel inadequate. It wasn’t just physical exhaustion; emotionally, there was a void.

We began to feel more distant from each other, less happy. That’s when we realized something had to change.

And the first step toward change was simple: travel.

One morning, over our coffee, we opened Google Maps and began to dream.
We thought, “How far can we really go? How different can it be?”

And we asked ourselves,

“If we do this, will it really change things?”

We found a flight to Tirana, Albania, and booked it right then. The excitement of planning made us realize this might be the change we needed. Once we arrived in Tirana, the experience offered much more than we ever expected. We felt so happy, so much better.

We needed this.

Because it wasn’t just the routine that was dragging us down—it was also our jobs.
But what should we do? Quit our jobs?
That decision required courage, but something inside us was pushing us forward.

So, we decided to change our lifestyle.
We didn’t have much of a budget, but we had big dreams.
We wanted travel to be a permanent part of our life.
When we told our family and friends about our decision, the response wasn’t exactly positive.

But we were determined to follow our own path.

Sure, we were scared, uncertain about what lay ahead, but we knew we had to pursue our dreams.
The next step was another trip.

This time, we went to Georgia

After our trip to Tirana, visiting Georgia made our decision clearer.
We were sure of it: we wanted travel to be a lifestyle.
The idea of escaping the ordinary and stepping into a new world was exhilarating.
And now, here we are, on the verge of another adventure.

Yes, we’re still in the early stages,

but we’re planning our next destination: Sri Lanka.

Traveling isn’t just about seeing new places.
It’s about getting to know your partner on a deeper level, making new connections, and adding meaning to your life.

You’ve probably heard it before: “Step outside your comfort zone.”

That’s exactly what we’re doing, and we’ve learned just how interesting and different life can be when you embrace change.
If you and your partner are considering this kind of journey, don’t hesitate.

It might be a little tough at first, but once you start, everything will change.
